My YouTube clip of the week. WOW. This illusionist is beyond great.

I just stumbled across this… this man is incredible.

His name is Darcy Oake and he entered Britain’s Got Talent in 2014. His ‘slight of hand’ is unbelievable. I’m not usually a ‘magic trick’ lover… but this…is… amazing. This video, published in April 2014 has had 46,378,908 views (as of 13/3/2015).

I hope you were as amazed as me. ♥

“Not only can illusionist Darcy make doves appear out of nowhere, he also has an even bigger trick up his sleeve.
Simon thinks the Judges have uncovered a star — see if you agree.”

My YouTube Clip of the week. AMAZING cover of #Pharrell #Happy @LaurenPlatt7

Hello again 🙂

Saturdays mean… another posting of My YouTube clip of the week. Now I’m a little behind in the X Factor UK world… I’m still catching up on season 11 (which has already ended with the amazing Ben taking the title). However… I can watch THIS performance over and over again. One of my favourite performers and performances of the season, I would like to introduce you to Ms. Lauren Platt.

Lauren Platt

Lauren Platt (born 7 October 1997) was a student from Essex.[24] In 2010, she auditioned for the role of Louise Mitchell on EastEnders, but lost out to Brittany Papple.[25] She has stated that her dream duet would be Beyoncé.[1]

Platt was the youngest solo contestant in the competition.[26] With the eliminations of Stephanie Nala and Chloe Jasmine in week two and Lola Saunders in week four, Platt was Fernandez-Versini’s last remaining act in the competition. In week 8, Platt was in the bottom two with Stereo Kicks but was saved by the public vote after the result went to deadlock.[27] However in week 9, she was in the bottom two with Andrea Faustini and was eliminated after only Fernandez-Versini voted to save her, finishing in fourth place and becoming the last of her acts to leave the competition.[10]

This video, published in Oct 2014 has had over 1,870,000 views (when publishing this post). I think it is soulful and beautiful and age appropriate and just flipping kiff. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Follow Lauren on twitter here.

My YouTube Clip of the week: GREAT MJ medley, all vocals by ONE man.

I first watched THIS YouTube clip years ago. But I had to share it. With just under 33 million views, I’m not surprised if you have also already seen this.
I am a huge fan of Michael Jackson’s early work and I really loved how this medley was put together, I was also blown away by how all the harmonies were done by just one person. Sam Tsui.

Samuel “Sam” Tsui (born May 2, 1989[2]) is an American musician and internet celebrity who rose to fame on YouTube. He is best known for covering songs by popular artists like Adele, Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake and Bruno Mars, as well as for his original songs, medleys, and mashups, along with his frequent collaborations with Kurt Hugo Schneider. As of September 2014, he had 1.5 million subscribers.” – for full Wikipedia article click here.

I would love to know what YOU think of this. And, if you have a YouTube clip that you think would be great for #MyYoutubeClipOfTheWeek please send it to me via email: keri@1049.fm

My YouTube Clip of the week: Female Fails #newsbloopers #falling

HELLO AGAIN!
It is Saturday, which means… my YouTube clip of the week goes live.

As it is Women’s Month I have been focusing purely on the ladies of YouTube. Today is no different… There are two videos today. Both I really enjoyed but probably because I, like many people, get some weird pleasure from watching people fall. NOTE: no one was very seriously injured in these videos. (except hopefull for the 2 clips with bulls where I hope the people WERE. *I am not a fan of rodeo or the running of the bulls at all*)
aaaanyway….

The first video is one of female news anchors ‘failing’ live. I love news blooper videos, and I have MANY funnier ones but because I’m sharing this with my work profile I need to ‘keep it clean’ 😉 My favourite part is where the news anchor pronounces ‘Phuket’ as … well… you can only imagine.

the second video, with over 142 million views, proves to me, that it’s not only me and my sister Ceejae who LOVE watching people fall. This is a 10 minute home video compilation of ladies coming very short. hahahaha. IF this is your cup of tea… I’m sure you will also enjoy it.

If you have any great YouTube clips that you would like to share on my show please email keri@1049.fm

and remember… you can listen to Heart 104.9FM live on streaming here.

My Youtube pick of the week…

I became obsessed with ‘Only1Noah’ after I saw his cover of ‘Sexy and I know it” originally by LMFAO.

My latest obession is Rihanna’s Diamonds. Not because I think it is a phenomenal song by any means, but because of how much fun it is to sing it with an Indian accent.

Hence my choice of video of the week this week.

It’s Noah’s cover of Diamonds 🙂

‘Langarm Style’ This week’s favourite YouTube clips via the listeners.

Every week I ask the listeners on my show to send me their favourite YouTube clips of the week. Some are much older than this week, but I thought you deserved to see these.

… enjoy.
remember, if you happen across a great video, just mail me the link kerim@kfm.co.za and I can share it with the listeners. 🙂

Here is the ‘not so new’ but ever entertaining Sweet Brown remix video sent in by an anonymous listener. She shot to fame after her very animated interview on an American news channel went viral. You can’t script this shit.

and this one… published in october last year, so it’s not a spring chicken either, but I did enjoy it. I am SO over gangnam style, in fact I don’t know if I was EVER into it, but I do enjoy this parody. It’s like it was meant to be in Afrikaans all along 🙂 – sent in by ‘Mike’ on the sms line.
